OpenAPI 3.0

Download the complete specification for Postman, Insomnia, code generators and custom SDKs.

Limits

100 requests per minute per key. Monthly quotas: Professional: 50,000 · Enterprise: 250,000.

Quick start

Base URL https://www.claribill.com/api/v1. Standard responses use JSON with a data envelope; lists also include pagination. Blog routes and file downloads use the specific formats documented in the explorer.

# Fetch sent invoices
curl "https://www.claribill.com/api/v1/invoices?status=SENT&limit=10" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $CLARIBILL_API_KEY"

# Create an invoice draft
curl -X POST "https://www.claribill.com/api/v1/invoices" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $CLARIBILL_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "customerId": "CUSTOMER_ID",
    "documentLocale": "en",
    "lines": [
      { "description": "Consulting", "quantity": 10, "unitPrice": 150, "taxRate": 20 }
    ]
  }'

Authentication

Send your API key in the Authorization header with every request. Each key belongs to exactly one company; all queries are limited to that company. Its scopes determine which endpoints it can access.

Authorization: Bearer sk_live_…

In the API explorer, enter your key using Authorize, then use Try it out to send requests directly to your company. The key is not stored.

Webhooks

Claribill can notify your system of events such as sent or paid invoices using HMAC-signed webhooks (Enterprise). Find the endpoints under webhooks in the explorer and the event list in the documentation. Documentation
